The 2008 WRX is the first turbo Subaru engine to not use an oil cooler in a very long time. Obvious, this was a way to cut some cost out of the car on the WRX. The HP specs on the engine are a little different than previous STI's. The past STI models (2004-2006) were rated at 300 engine HP and 300ft-lbs of torque.
