It really depends on how you are going to drive the car. I get that the solid axel is better for drag racing. I personally would not want to make a purpose built drag car out of a Cobra. The short wheelbase is tricky. If you are building a track only car, then maybe. If you are going to drive on the street, the IRS is a big deal.
