Grid Autosport for sure. the AI is more consistent through the whole field. It's closer to a real sim than Gran Turismo. The AI is pure annoyance in Grid 2. You have to screw up the bunch of piles slowmo & the first spot is always full free of space that the only way to catch the first spot is to get free of the slowmo right at the beginning.

Grid 2 wasn't a bad game as far as arcadish racers go but Autosport is by far the better game. Not sure on the split screen. The race types are more or less the same as I recall. There is time trial, grid racing, drifting. I think Grid 2 does not have drift mode. This information can be found by reading the FAQs I'm sure.

The difference between pCARS and Grid Autosport is, pCARS has a much more demanding physics, pit stops, proper cockpit views, and full day and night cycle with weather effects.Car list wise, pCARS will have even lesser road cars, barely any touring cars and no tuners but emphasize on a lot of GT cars to Le Mans, Open Wheels and also classic cars.

Bought Grid Autosport for the same reason and was pretty disappointed. It might be a good game overall (plus the different control schemes you can choose from are pretty cool), but imo it's nothing like Forza.
