The Asheville-Weaverville track (now Buncombe High School) ran from 1950-1969 as a 1/2 mile, high-banked dirt track until it was paved in 1957. The McCormick Field track I Photo courtesy of Jordan Puckett The Tourists’ own McCormick Field was used as a paved 1/4 mile racetrack from 1956-1959 with the pit crews posted up in the dugouts.

March 5, 12, 19, and 26 Meets Saturday afternoon from 1pm - 4pm. This seminar is for beginner and intermediate racers and is open to all classes of boats. The session will consist of 15-30 minutes of chalk talk followed by on-the-water drills. The first session will cover starting and buoy rounding. The second session will cover upwind techniques.
