"Miss Mighty Mopar," as she was known, won five Division Five championships and was voted Car Craft magazine's Super Stock Driver of the Year in 1972, 1976 and 1977. She began drag racing in 1961, her husband, Lou, having gotten her interested in the sport. She balanced being a housewife and mother of two children--and a professional hairdresser.
