And there are plenty of fast cars on multi leaf springs, just as there are on mono's--the only advantage I see with Calvert's is the ability to change ride height by changing one half of the split. One benefit I found when changing from multileaf/slapper bars to the full Calvert setup, was a 60+lb. weight reduction!
