Herbert Cams. A good friend of mine builds pretty expensive race engines, $25,000 to over $100,000. He says Herbert cams are really good. He said they are a little cheaper because they don't spend a lot on advertising. No names mentioned, but some companies spend a huge amount of money on advertising and Herbert doesn't.

2,783 Posts. #4 · Sep 11, 2007. Only show this user. cams. I have built maybe 6 or 8 engines with there roller cams, and/or roller lifters. I have had zero isues with any of them. I would not run them in a full race engine, not necessarly because of quality of the cams but because i don't care for there grinds.
