I did not need to re-tune for any speed traps or sprints with a stage 5 maxed build. I was able to complete race 28 with 0 stage 6 without issue, and completed race 30 with only just 1 equipped. And there are people racing with gamepads in the A licenses, but they're hated on the track because you can't predict their movement on the track.
