I went with the CX Racing kit to piece together everything with different parts. I was initially only going to purchase the hot side parts with the intercooler, leaving out the turbo. CX had a nice 4th of July discount so I went ahead and purchased the full kit so I could leave feedback here regarding the complete kit and installation.

So I'm looking to turbo my Y8, but I'm on a budget. I want to do a simple build to run a max of 8lbs of boost because I don't want anything crazy to where I need to build my internals. I saw a vid on YouTube by CxRacing where they boosted a d16 on stock internals. According to the video, on 9.5lbs of boost, it was pushing 220whp.

It was a good little turbo, but in hindsight I would have had the wastegate ported. I felt that it's volumetric efficiency started suffering at the high RPM's. All in all though, very similar to the F4-L. Actually, the F4-L may flow a little more on account of Slappy opening up the wastegate on his turbos.

CX has an excellent warranty. Their charge piping is as good or better than any big name - CX Racing aluminum charge pipe is thick, clean, and welds beautifully. A Boost Logic $1200 FMIC kit for a Mk4 Supra is the coated china pipe found on the bottom tier eBay Honda kits that scratches and flakes off.

99BlownVert. On3 had a bad rep in the past but the fox kits are so much better now than they used to be. I love mine, drives like a 100% stock car until you get into it. CX racing has no rep what so ever, I would never buy a kit from them. 11.50 may be difficult with 400/400 but I dont think it is impossible.
