Our flowbench tests are done with industry standard at 28 inch of H2O and also higher pressure. Intercoolers are normally used for boosted applications which flow at higher flow rates. However, many intercooler manufacturers/sellers list flowrates that inaccurate and stating a flow rate without even indicating the test pressure is misleading.

Discussion Starter · #1 · Apr 23, 2015 Looking at getting the biggest intercooler at the lowest cost. Towing 7000 lbs of travel trailer up in the mountains of AZ and it can get hot here like 115 degrees all summer in town. Right now it has the OEM intercooler. The one from CXracing is bolt on with pipes and clamps for about $950 on ebay.

The Mishimoto Street intercooler, I have heard some mixed reviews. I have read everything from people praising this product, all the way to the other end of the spectrum where people say they see hotter temps than stock. The CXRacing is also a mixed bag of treats. I have read that some love it and some have major leaks.

im not looking to spend a lot and $500 for hard pipes and a big intercooler is a great deal not to mention cxracing has great cores (had their intercooler for my mini cooper s, and eclipse gst) was mainly wondering what fitment is like Click to expand... Ugh, i always disliked their stuff. For the money, depo 3.5 inch core is quite a bit nicer.

Welding will most likely run me ~30-40$ for the pipe and bov. so for a total of 100-110$ I have intercooler piping that fits just as good as any big money kit out there. I have purchased kits in the past from trusted shops that had to be modified anyways. I learned from that its either, have a local fabricator do it for me or do it myself.
