The two cars take time to warm up, then go very fast, and occasionally go off the track. They have to be reset. My daughter told the birthday boy and his older brother, age 6 1/2, to think of resetting the cars on the track as their "Pit Stop".

They are all a mix of scales. The diecast cars and the buildings are smaller than 1:43 but bigger than 1:64. The piston Cup racing set (not the slot car set) is the same scale but some of the cars (Ramone and Flo) don't go so well on it and some won't go at all (Lizzie, Chewall Tractor, Red and probably Sarge, Doc Hudson, Sheriff etc).
