    Use a good NGK Plug. 040 gap is a good place to start with high compression. Check out NGK spark plugs web site. On average most of the time you would end up with around a .032" gap with your application. In my all out naturally aspirated drag race SBC which is 15.5:1 compression and high rpm I use .020" gap.

    When you do make adjustments, go slow and make small adjustments. Also, don't change the gap more than 0.008 in. in either direction. Any further and the ground and center electrodes may not be parallel. Notes. Spark plug gap should be checked on every spark plug prior to installation. Never use the center electrode as a leverage point/fulcrum.
