and knocked with less than 2,000 miles on motor, also broke 2 cams and am rebuilding motor for the second time. DSS told me I could turn the motor to 7500 plus (wrong) I bent 11 vaulves. other than that the motor makes great power was a 8.5 compression motor made for a charger. went 12.03 at 117.7 several times with 1.72 60 foot.

I ordered a DSS block back in 1998. After running a little less than a year, an area of very porous metal broke off of the block from the area under the timing cover and ended up locking up my oil pump. Upon disassembly, I was able to break off even larger chunks with a chipping hammer.

Discussion Starter · #1 · Apr 20, 2006 I bought my new shortblock from DSS. They had very good customer service and bent over backwards to work out everything that I wanted and needed. They didnt put in one of the papaers that was supposed to come with the motor and I called them and it was in my e-mail 5 minutes later.

Now as far as D.S.S goes I only have one expierence with them. I had a customer bring me his 94 Cobra that was having issues on a low mile DSS Pro Comp 306, the tolerances were all over the place and the align hone looked like it had been done with a dull spoon.

Kirk Klement doesn't recommend D.S.S Racing. January 18 · Wanted std size forged pistons for 70 mach 1 428cj. Got them, didn't fit factory rods. Told to send them back with our rods.
