Nov 6, 2012. #13. 8" wide wheel is ideal for a 225 tire. Some of the road race guys are actually putting a 225 tire on a 9" wide tire up front. Some stretch is good because it makes the corners square (no buldge). Unfortunately the rear wont fit any more than a 8"/225 without notching the RTA.
