A narrow angle V6, 2,998 cc Swindon Racing Engines tuned GM racing engine is mounted longitudinally in the Lotus Sport Exige. The naturally aspirated 32-valve engine produces 400 hp (296 kW or 405 PS) at 7,750 rpm and 294 lb.ft (398 Nm or 40.6 kgm) of torque at 6,500 rpm and has a maximum engine speed of 8,250 rpm.

This (2006) was the last naturally aspirated Exige built. It is a dedicated race car, but original parts are included to convert back to street legal. It is legal to race with NASA (ST4), SCAA (T3), USTCC, and Lotus Cup USA (spec class). It has log books for both NASA and SCCA; NASA is good thru end of this year.
