Formula makes the industries sickest brakes. Their cheapest brakes are still better than anything Hayes makes. They have brakes from good solid brakes (K18) to super highend XC (puro) and highend DH race (bianco Minaar signet). I have the ORO K18 on my Comee and K24 on my DH rig.

All the formula levers feel pretty good to me, (unlike the goofy looking magura or hayes levers). The K24's/K18/Puro/Bianco's brakes are very very nice, but no difference in braking power if your using the same pads.
