However, racing at Freeport was no longer the same. Around 2011 the track went into foreclosure and the grandstands were all torn down.

    The track reopened as a paved 1/5 mile oval on June 16th, 1939, operating through September 23rd, 1941. An outlaw race was run in 1944. Racing resumed after WWII on August 30th, 1945, running through 1974. The track length was increased to 1/4 mile for 1975, and ran through September 24th, 1983 in this form.
