I think the cost difference between the regular Racing Speed and the XLR versions is more about the ceramic bearings in the hubs than weight saving, although they do have carbon bodied hubs I think. For 600 quid? Seems a lot extra. Bora do 2 versions, same thing, ceramic bearings in the Ultra 2 etc. The rims are identical in both versions.
