The BMW E30 M3, Getrag 265 gearkit is a complete dog engaged straight-cut gearkit. Designed according “Prodrive” specification, to fit the OEM Getrag 265/5 gearbox after minor modifications. This gearkit can handle up to 400 Nm of torque, and is HTP (Historical Technical Passport) proved. The ratios are FIA Homologated Group A, custom ratios available on request.

In 2001 they designed a gearbox that can change gear in 0.06 seconds, that’s 6 gear changes in half the time of 1 smart gear change! It’s 100% down to smart, they wanted a ‘box on a budget and Getrag did what they could. Smart obviously wasn’t too bothered about quick changes as the smart was supposed to be a city car, not a performance vehicle.
