I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Brazilian Rosewood on the 67 it was the voicing. Martin made a lot of guitars in the 70's more than they had ever made in the past. Most of the acoustic guitar brands (Gibson, Guild, Martin) in the 70's really struggled. Thats why the Boutique market started back then with brands like Santa Cruz and Taylor.
