To get your feet wet in heads up racing, I would look for some index classes, 1/8th or 1/4, they are a great place to start and you can have some fun without dropping a ton of money. The hot heads up classes right now in order of most expensive to least expensive(none are cheap!!) outlaw 10.5, outlaw drag radial, then some sort of true 10.5 or 275 radial series.
