The Historic Sports Car Club will run pilot races for a new Historic Modsports and Saloons category in 2022 as a lead-in to a fuller programme of races in 2023. The inaugural races will be at Cadwell Park during the Wolds Trophy meeting on 4/5 June.

The Historic Racing Saloon Register was formed in1984 by Glen Maskell (who became the first Chairman until his death in 2003), Bob Sherring, Tony Castle-Miller and Phil Wight, who became the first committee. The HRSR was formed as the interest in all forms of historic motor sport was beginning to blossom.

Production may have started before 1966 but continued production until much later and therefore remains eligible.
