The history of auto racing in Iowa began on July 9th, 1915 with a AAA sanctioned Championship auto race on a half mile dirt track at Tri-State Fairgrounds in Burlington, Iowa. Both Ramo and Ernie both had wins in IMCA, USAC and ARCA. Ramo sat on the pole for the 76 Daytona 500. Ramo was never able to win a IMCA Championship.
