The newest AvGas blend is 82UL , purple in color, and is an unleaded blend made with motor gasoline components and is used in aircraft with a FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) which allows usage of automotive gasoline. If you run consistently higher than that you will be spitting unburnt fuel out the pipe. Most pre-run or play cars don't spend too much time over 3500RPM

It DOES NOT have the same octane rating as 100 octane race gas. And it has a much lower REID VAPOR rating. Also, the whole "dry" thing is completely misunderstood. The "dry" in Avgas means it is certified to contain much less water, which will freeze. Any glycol in the fuel is to inhibit any water it does contain from freezing.

AV Gas has a MOR (motor octane rating) of 96, R+M/2 rating of 100, and ROM (Research Octane Rating) of 106. AV Gas is lighter than racing gasoline thus more fuel/larger jetting is required. Jetted correctly you should not experience a lean burn at WOT. I would not use AV Gas as a cleaner.

AV gas (100LL) is designed to run in engines wtih 8.5-9.5 turning 2400 rpm max. They do blend gas differently for the folks in Denver. And AV gas attracts water like a SOB. Which is why every day when I use to fly I had to sump the fuel tanks to get the water out. How many sump drains do people have on their gas tanks.
