Lower the drafting distance enough and they'll race 3 wide and be more likely to have a big one. For the short tracks you might just need to turn down the difficulty or try out some different versions. You could up the drafting distance but I don't like doing that because it makes them have a harder time closing up and attempting to pass 4 level 2

ai_dlat_pad: Determines how close together the ai race side by side. On superspeedways (Daytona and Talladega) ai have this set to 0.2 and on speedways and short tracks, I usually have it in the middle (0.5 - 0.8 and maybe 1.00 too.) play around with that and see what you’re most comfortable with.
