The name Standardbred originated in the early development of the breed, when horses were registered if they could meet certain standards of speed, such as trotting a mile in 2 1/2 minutes.

Entry fees for purse races will be $65 and qualifiers will be $50 per horse. Scratched horses will be responsible for their entry fee. All scratches must be reported to race office in a timely manner.
