My replay folder currently takes up 10 GBs on my C: drive, a drive which I am desperately trying to find more space on at the moment. If I could move my iRacing replays to save on another drive that would be great, the issue is that it looks like the website will not recognize files once they have been moved from the replay folder in the iRacing documents folder.

The files are physically located on your computer, in 'Documents/iRacing/replays' I think. You would need iRacing to replay them, or record them via fraps as you mentioned. Just to add a little more. Your replay files will remain on your pc as mentioned by the previous poster.
