Users can make their own spotter sound packs for iRacing. Sound packs consist of a collection of audio samples along with a spmsg.txt file that stores the corresponding text. Samples need to be recorded as mono uncompressed wave files. 16 and 8 bit samples of any bitrate can be used, as long as it is mono.

iRacing sounds best in a surround system with a big ass sub as do all other games. Make sure your soundcard is the default device in Control Panel/sound turn your Windows volume down to about 75% (over that can cause distortion when many sounds layer, so this will give you more headroom). Use your device to control the volume.

All the other engine sounds are based on iRacing sounds. edit: I wanted to clarify, the only sounds I worked on are engine-related. The gear change sound is from Piloticle's amazing Petty's V8 sound pack and the skid sound is from one recently released on Stunod.
