Must be a bottleneck somewhere between you and the iRacing file servers. Mind you, a speed test doesn't guarantee a good connection to all sites, it only shows speed between you and the server that tests your speed. I've had a similar issue. Mar 8, 2017 @ 10:49am. it can be anything from 1 hour to 6 hours depending on how big it is typically, but can be longer if there are some troubles. This one seemed to be quite long, around 5 hours or so. Beware that the downloads are taking a long time because nearly EVERYONE is currently downloading it.

After yesterday’s and today’s updates, iRacing is loading super slow on my computer. So slow that I missed the start of a hosted race. Anybody else have that same issue. Could RAM be a factor? I know they recently updated the system requirements for RAM, but I’ve been running just fine off of 8 GB for years.
