Please realize when IRC released this tire in 1994 - it was intended as a smooth, groomed XC race course tire. It absolutely excels, in that environment. This may end up being the winner. Never run a Conti before but the 26x2.2 Race King Protection is only 545g. The Race Sport is lighter but it seems like a lot of people have trouble getting the sidewalls to stop seeping. As small as they are the girls aren't power riders, much more momentum and spinning up hills instead of powering over.

I have run the fire xc pro, race king SS 2.2, razor MX, mountain king protection and rampage this last year. For endurance racing, the race king SS would be hard to beat. I did a 50 mile event this summer and switched to the mountain king protections for the durability factor. Felt it was a big mistake after wards.
