Lake Geneva Raceway (likewise LGR) was a motocross, destruction derby, rough terrain hustling, stock vehicle, and kart dashing course in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, US. It was charged as “Wisconsin’s Busiest Racetrack. “The track shut on December 31, 2006, and a nursing home named “Lake Geneva Golden Years” was based on the site.

The raceway hosted motocross, stock car, short-track and go-kart races, as well as demolition derbies, concerts, rodeos and dog-agility competitions. The track also was used for driving schools for the Lake Geneva Police Department and the U.S. Postal Service. Dawson said the track hosted at least five races a week during racing season.

In August of 1974 he purchased his first motorcycle a newly redesigned 1975 Puch 125 Moto-Cross from Goettel Motors in Lakemoor Illinois. His first race was a muddy one at Maplehurst Cycle Park, just south of Wilmot WI in October. He won his first race a few weeks later at Lake Geneva Raceway and was hooked on racing for life.
