A Locost is a home-built sports car that resembles a Lotus 7 or Caterham 7. Initially designed in Great Britain by Ron Champion, it has its roots in 750 Motor Club racing. The car is based on a racer that Champion designed and built in the early sixites. It has a welded up space frame chassis and uses mechanical components from a rear wheel drive Ford Escort.
