Slide the clutch down the crank applying side pressure to keep the plate on the rollers. If the plate lifts, take apart to make sure the rollers didn't flip and try again. Use a light and make double sure the key is in the roller plate notch then put the spacer/bushing in. Push belt into the rear clutch and put on the gear shaft/front clutch.

Hello, I am working on the clutch on my sons LT80. I am replacing belt, new rollers in the front clutch closest to the motor. After removing drum on the rearward clutch, the shoes are almost completely gone, so I am replacing. I removed the drum, now I am wondering how the assembly with the shoes comes off the splined shaft.

As you can see above the stock LT80 is now a full 5" wider at the wheels with a simple bolt-on kit. This lends increased stability to the machine for improved cornering whether trail riding or racing on a track. The front wheel travel is also increased about 1" as well in much the same way as longer A-arms do along with delivering a softer ride.

The clutches on the lt80 are on the r/h side of quad. It sounds like your rollers in the front variator need replaced. Not a bad job just a lota time. Also clean out clutch belt area with carb cleaner,remove belt dust. There are six rollers. Hope this helped. ss440ex 03-11-2004, 11:28 PM Sorry the clutches are on the LEFT side.

The lt 80 is a very good bike...if you want to extend the front arms i went with jl atv ( i believe thats what it is ) kit. if you want more power take the head to your machinist and have him shave .010" off of it and take 2 of the front rollers out of the variator and lighten the rear clutch to shoes to 180 grams each.
