Ron's probably right about the Shank and thread size....... TC you are ALMOST correct. The lug stud must extend into the hex portion of the nut by a distance equal to the diameter of the stud. So, in this case, these studs must extend INTO the hex portion of the nut by a minimum of 7/16". They do not need to protrude outside the nut.

This is Weld's specs: Lug Nut Shank Length (in): 1.300-1.380 in Lug Nut Shank Diameter (in): 0.679-0.687 in. Washer Outside Diameter (in): 1.250 in. I got mine from Summit. Just make sure you have the shank length correct or you risk snapping a stud.
