There is a big difference in fork lube oils between moto and mtb yet lube companies tend to lump them together. Moto can be using 30x as much lube oil in a fork as mtb. A lower VI oil won't help friction in a cartridge damper. You're better with a higher VI for low temperature performance.

Im using 5w I didnt see anywhere that it said std, or "cartridge fork oil" for that matter... Maxima is good stuff. std stands for standard.....or the old kind of fork oil without the special cartridge additives. There is a difference in cheap non cartridge fork oil and the more expensive cartridge fork oil.
