Michael Luna stayed involved with racing during his time off the track as director of the Southern Regional Racing Series. The series saw small car counts and less track booking dates before Luna and race director Ray Tucker decided to shut down the series following the 2013 season. “It was getting harder and harder to book tracks,” Luna stated.

As a kid, Mike Salinas was introduced to racing by his father, who raced his hot rods during the 60’s and 70’s at Fremont Drag Strip and Little Bonneville. Mike began competing in the Nostalgia Eliminator 1 and 7.0 Pro Class from 2001 to 2009. In 2009, he received his Top Fuel license at the Texas Motorplex.
