Replied on August 3, 2016 NASCAR Sim Racing uses SafeDisk copy protection which MS had decided to block. This is not the only possibility but a serious contender...DRM Blocking is a major issue with Win10 and old disk based games. All disk based games that have a file titled secdrv.sys on the disk are being prevented from launching

Just get the 3dconfig.exe file from Nascar thunder 2004. ( If you dont have the game, download the game demo. ) Then rename 3dconfig,exr to 3dsetup.exe and place it in the Nascar Simracing directory and it will work perfectly. 3) Downloaded the new 3Dsetup for Nascar Thunder - but using the link provided above to just download the file http://www.mediafire.com/?4ntdnumdknh. 4) renamed old 3Dsetup and replaced with new one. 5) Ran simracing - going through the 3dsetup again when it came up (note, I did change the default 800x600 to the largest (14??x900).

Last year, Microsoft removed support for SECDRV, a copy protection scheme used on older software, thus rendering this software unloadable. It affects mostly games.

To run this game on Windows 10 you should get the 3DConfig.exe files from Nascar Thunder 2003 iso and then paste to installation folder. Next, you can delete or just rename the default 3DSetup.exe and then rename 3Dconfig.exe from NT2003 to 3DSetup.exe.

It actually will work if you run the game in opengl and use opengl32.dll, but with issues (only tested 0.12 for this). Menus have black screens, however if you can blindly navigate them the picture returns and reshade will be working when you start a race session. (of course the game runs horribly in this mode so it's not really an option)
