New York Yacht Club partnered with Sail Newport in the 1990s to bring keelboat team racing to Harbour Court and, since that time, has acquired a fleet of 22 Sonars, created three nationally-renowned team race regattas, and played a pivotal role in the growth of team racing as a sport for all ages, all across the country.

Newport, Rhode Island GENERAL FORMAT The 2021 NYYC Grandmasters Team Race Regatta, now in its eleventh running, will have 8 teams and 3 days of racing. Competitors will sail in Sonars with 3 or 4 sailors per boat. Skippers must be at least 60 years of age and shall not have skippered in either the 2021 Morgan Cup or 2021 Hinman Masters.
