In New York in the '60s, this is where it was at in terms of big time street racing. The Connecting Highway is actually a short stretch of roadway that connects the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to the Grand Central Parkway in Queens, New York. All the big money runs took place at the Connecting, as we called it.

October 30, 2009, 01:13 PM. Re: NY street racers, connecting Highway. That is some cool stuff. They also used to race on the Hutchinson River Parkway. "The Hutch". But that was mainly mid-level racing. They would put out a rolling road block, line up and race. the Connecting was the serious shit.

About 10 years ago the cops in Ozone Park had a 5.0 mustang with a real lopey cam in it that they confiscated for street racing, they painted it up just like an NYC police car and on the bottoms of the doors it said "this vehical was confiscated for illegal street dragracing".
