On April 1, 2016, the Ontario Racing Commission ( ORC) ceased operations and on that date, as mandated by the Horse Racing Licence Act, 2015, the regulatory responsibilities for horse racing were transferred to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario ( AGCO ).
