RE: Sleeve Pinching Might not be worth the bother doing it yourself. It's a very precise procedure if done correctly. There are clamping fixtures being sold that will supposedly get the job 'done', but there is no insurance that the lining of the sleeve won't develop micro fissures, or become out-of-round.

RE: Nitro Sleeve pinching ? It is normal the piston are tight in the sleeve at top of dead center when the engine are cold. It is neccesary to have the sleeve tapered to keep compression under starting. When the engine are running and the sleeve are expanded from taper to straight in same time with the piston are a bit little expanded.

What we do is idle heat cycle it for 2 tanks, then run 4 tanks gently doing figure 8's on a flat area running rich and give it short 1/4 throttle pulls then release and repeat. but not so rich to where it is hard to keep running, rich enough to where there is lots of smoke and it wont quite be super punchy but it will move around without choking.
