Speaking from personal experience, you want the TH350 for a street/strip car. You don't want too much gear for a nitrous car, we run 10.80's in a 3300# 64 with a TH350 and 3.50 gears. It's a very mild 400 with a 125 shot. You already know that 26" tall is about the limit in a stock Nova well, and you'll be running 133 at 7000 rpm with 3.70 gears.

don't even consider the power glide unless you have an engine that makes gobs of torque and is for racing only. Th-350 beat pg all the time for steet use. Trust me i've got a pg in mine for street and it blows.
