Speaking from personal experience, you want the TH350 for a street/strip car. You don't want too much gear for a nitrous car, we run 10.80's in a 3300# 64 with a TH350 and 3.50 gears. It's a very mild 400 with a 125 shot. You already know that 26" tall is about the limit in a stock Nova well, and you'll be running 133 at 7000 rpm with 3.70 gears.
