If you want to use the PS3 pad for menus, you have to set the pad as controller number 1. You can do this from the menu which pops up when you keep the PS button from the pad pushed down for at least 2 seconds. The wheel works when you drive although it is controller number 2. And I haven't tested the shifters or all the red buttons.
