Purdue Solar Racing. About. The Purdue Solar Racing Team designs, builds, tests, and races solar cars. We have built 9 cars to date, with our most recent car being Navitas, an urban concept solar car. We competed in the 2008 through 2013 Shell Eco-Marathon and won our division all six years. PULSAR, our 7th car and a prototype vehicle, achieved a record breaking 5,000 MPG in 2009.

This year, Renatus (Latin for "rebirth") is Purdue Solar Racing's 10th vehicle. The project is ongoing since 2015 with a changing group of students. Twenty-five members make up the solar racing team, ranging from graduate students to freshmen.
