Pictured is a right rear tire. The screws slot is parallel to the rear axle. The screws are in the front portion of the rubber block also, to help keep the screws in the tire. The side screws are for braking and left/right corner traction. Those side screws are indexed opposite of the forward traction screws.

yfz450inMI. I run 18x9.5x8 Cheng Shin rear ice tires and 19x6x10 holeshot MX fronts with 5/8: Kold Kutters. Front and rear lowering kits can be purchased through CRJ Performance (link above). Swaybar is a good idea. Lonestar or Rath Racing seem to be pretty popular. I run a 175 main and 45 pilot with a HMF exhaust.

This will stretch the rubber so that when it is fully studded you can let the pressure out and the rubber will collapse and almost hug the threads tighter. If the bike is for left and right turns vary the cut on the head on every other stud. ( ie. One going from 10 o' clock to 4 o' clock.

To lower the rear get a dura blue TRX lowering link, and max it out. Anything else is probably unsafe, especially if you go off track and hit any bumps. Up a tooth in the front, and down a tooth in the rear, and you can use the same chain. Extend your axle with 4" spacers, or get a durablue eliminator, or x-33.

Next to studs, a sway bar is the most important thing you can have on your quad for ice racing. i would get a sway bar before a lowering kit any day. I use 1" Kold Kutters with nylock nuts on the inside. This is a little more time consuming but worth it. Chen Shin's on the rear is a good choice. Try three rib tractor tires up front, they work the best.
