I don't ice race, but I ride my quad on ice in the winter, lol. The trick is traction control. You don't want the wheels spinning fast. Sit as far back as possible to weight the rear wheels and give them some hope at traction. Momentum is your friend - once you get going, don't stop.

You shouldn't need to go plus 4 in the rear. Narrow it up a bit, will get better traction and be easier to pitch in the corners. I would think you have a sway bar, if not get one and set it neutral since you turn left and right. Try raising the rear if the front is pushing. Too low isn't always good for traction.
