Disconnect vac advance, plug the line so you don't have a vac. Leak and rev the engine up by hand while looking at your balancer with a timing light (wear safety glasses). Lock it in around 36, now see where your initial falls with no vac. Write these two numbers down. Also try to capture what rpm your full mechanical advance is comming in at.
