420s – Ephraim Yacht Club

The EYC has 18 420s that are used for lessons and racing. Races, held twice a week, are both fun and competitive, often including many boats out on the race course. Fleet Activities Fleet activities revolve around the 420 racing series, held on Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

To sign up for the course, sailors must have previously sailed in Intermediate Widgeons or Intermediate and Racing Optimists for a minimum of four weeks (the four weeks can be cumulative over multiple seasons). 420s are performance boats. Due to their size and speed, they are not ideal for small or lightweight students.
