The actual cam drive gears require no maintenance what so ever, but the bike still needs the same valve clearance checks as per pretty much any other bike. Later models (VFR800) have chain driven cams, these don't require any scheduled maintenance, but the chains and tensioner blades do wear and may require replacement at high mileages.
