First off, The Catalyst http://www.catalystracingcomposites.com/ This is the first set I put on the R6. It comes primered fairly smooth and requires little or no wet sanding to prep for paint.

I would like to offer my composite services to land speed racers. I owned my own composites manufacturing company build military drones and we build custom tooling, repaired small watercraft and ATVs. On the side we restored wood boats and built high performance racing sailboats.

Composites have a much larger strength-to-weight ratio than metals. If you compare a 1/2″ thick, 1 square foot piece of steel with a 1/2″ thick, 1 square foot piece of composite, the steel will be stronger — but also much heavier. You can replace that steel with a piece of composite much thinner, thus getting the same strength for less weight.
